hello and welcome to HCM!
your sign and symptoms indicate towards you having allergic rhinitis. patient usually has running nose, repeated episode of sneezing watery eyes, headaches, etc. for an acute attack antihistamines are the drug of choice (cetirizine-zyrtec 10mg once daily). you can use an intranasal corticosteroid for blocked nasal passages mometasone nasal spray-nasonex,200mcg one spray each nostrils daily. also you can use montelukast 10mg (montair)daily at bed time as prophylaxis.
hope this helps
Wishing you best of health. take care

Thanks for your query on HCM
Look your symptoms are consistent with allergic rhinitis but non-allergic rhinitis (NARES) should have to be excluded too. First you must go for an allergic skin testing and nasal secretion eosinophil count. If allergic skin testing is positive then it is allergic rhinitis and if it is negative in the presence of high nasal eosinophil count then the diagnosis will be NARES. In NARES you need to take only intra-nasal steroid in the form of fluticasone proprionate twice daily initially then stepped down with symptomatic improvement. If it is allergic rhinitis you have to take anti-histaminic azelastine along with fluticasone as nasal spray and also you may have to take oral montelukast at bed time if symptom is not well controlled with azelastine-fluticasone combination alone.
I think my informations will be of help to you.
Thank you.

Hello there,
As now a days cold is increasing day by day.The problem you are facing found in such environment very commonly. This is called kaphaj avarodh according to ayurveda. The patient suffers at night most because, the srotorodha increases at night naturally.
1)drink warm water at least before going to bed.
2)shwasa kuthar rasa, shankha bhasma, praval panchamrut rasa are very effective.
3)application of kombadnakhi+suntha+varshabhu in paste form on nostrils and sinus area gives very immediate result.
Also the pathogenesis should be rectified first i.e. H/o jaundice, recurrent fever,U T I, worms etc. According to this the aforesaid treatment may differ. For this you should refer to an ayurvedic expert vaidya to rectify and treat the symptom / disease immediately.
