Bowel Pain After Laparoscopic Hysterectomy. No Urge To Urinate. Normal?

I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy 4 days ago. The only issue I m having is bowel pain. When I finally had a bowel movement , it was like my anal sphincter had forgotten how to work. Even though the stool was soft, it was very difficult to pass. it s also had to open the sphincter to allow gas to escape. I also don t have the urge to urinate. I go sit on the toilet every couple of hours and void but I don t have the urge to. Is this normal?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
After a hysterectomy, it is possible to have some urinary problems post surgically. This can be due to the persistent effect of the anaesthetics too. This should subside gradually in a week or two.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
