Blurred Vision, Burning Eyes. High BP, Taking Medication. Suggestions?

Hi Doctor, recently my blood pressure was 190/118 and my vision was blurry and I was confused, my doctor put me on medicarion, but I feel like. My eyes are still burning and does not feel right, is the damage permanent to my eyes? And also I have taken half of my 50mg atenolol and been checking my blood pressure and it' s been 130/83 should I still continue my medicine as my doctor recommended or can I take it when my blood pressure rises? I hate pills and it makes my heart rate very slow

Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be primarily due to any pathology in the eyes, or secondary to the elevated blood pressure levels, like hypertensive retinopathy.

Management involves keeping a regular check on the BP & keeping it at an optimal level for your age.
Kindly continue the anti hypertensive medications as advised by your doctor.
Stoppage of the medications will further increase the risk of hypertension associated organ damage.

If you find any medicine not compatible due to its side effects, then you can consult your treating physician & discuss about change of medicine.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
