Blood Test Shows Platelet Anisocytosis Microcytosis . On Simvastatis. ALT High. Advice?

hi I just want to ask. I had a blood test last week. the result came back and in the comments after the result it said that platelet anisocytosis microcytosis. I got a beta thalassemia trait.
I am on simvastatin for almost 8 years as I got high triglycerides.the result showed that my cholesterol and triglycerides are now normal,But my ALT is slightly elevated. My result is 50 where the normal values is between 0-35
should I be worried? I am perfectly ok on myself.

hello

As you are a patient of hypertriglycedemia, thalasemia trait, with alt of 50, and mild platelet morphology change

simvastatin do increase the Alt in the range you described

Simvastatin also changes cell morphology

Both of the effects that is platelet morphology change and alt of 50 , is NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL, THIS HAPPENS IN MOST OF THE PATIENT

I WOULD SUGGEST TO CONTINUE SIMVASTATIN , WITH OUT ANY TENSION , BUT A REGULAT ALT MONITORING THAT IS MONTHLY WITH PERIPHERAL BLOOD FILM

hope this helps

take care
