Blood Reports Attached. Do TMT?

I am 37 yrs. old and last month I did TMT for Insurance policy. After test, doctor told that report is not 100% ok. He advised to do ECO test for further investigation. I am surprised as I do not have habit of Alcohol, no smoking, no Diabetes. In March month I did routine health checkup, and found Chol: 189.6; TryGLi: 76, HDL:47, VLDL:15, LDL:127, Ratio: 4. Can you suggest what to do next. Repeat TMT how much helpful?

Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,
Your TMT may be showing some changes as details are not available, it is difficult to comment but commonly either some ST- T wave changes or rhythm disturbances like ectopic beats (APCs or VPCs) may be present.
You should not worry about and go for 2D Echocardiography to find out if there is any structural abnormality is there like Mitral valve prolapse or Hypertrophy of heart muscle, if anything is detected then treatment would depend on cause.
If everything is fine then nothing may be required.
If necessary cardiologist may ask for CT angiography to be sure they are normal. In such cases repeat TMT is not useful.
This is good that you do not smoke or take alcohol, other tests are normal do not worry.
Hope this helps,
Take care
Good Luck.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Since you have mentioned reports of lipid profile and this is 100 % normal .
Now about T M T means exercise for heart and its effects over heart.
If they found any thing abnormal in T M T report , then advised E C H O.
In my opinion this is the best thing for you .
Get in E C H O for heart and deal accordingly.
If report of E C H O comes normal well & good , if any thing abnormal then consult a physician and get his opinion.
Good luck.

Hi, Welcome to HCM.

The blood levels you have provided shows your lipid profile that generally impinge on the cardiovascular health. Fortunately they are normal, however, they do not tell anything about your cardiovascular parameters such as heart rate, blood pressure etc. One of the important cardiovascular tests is an exercise stress test (TMT) that determines whether your heart can handle high demand for blood supply. This means that if your stress test is positive then there is demand-blood supply mismatch at peak exercise levels, which looks like this is true in your case. Furthermore, echocardiography will give information in regard to your heart such as heart muscle thickness (hypertrophy), ejection fraction, pressure built up in various chambers of the heart, etc.

Although exercise stress test can be positive for various reasons independent of alcohol/smoking/diabetes particularly when the lab results are normal, they can be misleading and the best decision should rely on the cardiologist. Generally, exercise stress test results are quite stable so performing another one may not be helpful. I will advise you to go head with the echocardiography and get your heart evaluated by the cardiologist.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Since your doctor has told to get one Echo, get done that as there may be problem in heart even with no bad habbits and normal lipid level. Get back with the all the reports for fruitful discussion. Have proper sleep, nutritious diet with required calorie and regular outdoor exercises for your wellbeing.
Hope I answered your question. Consult your doctor for further examination and management.
Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health. Take care.

Regards
Dr.Lohit
