Blood In Stools. Doctor Required?

A young male friend 18 years old has bad a few days where he passed blood filled fluid sacs when having a bowel movement he also has stools with dark blood streaks through it, with a lot of almost black coloured blood in toilet. It has stopped for 2 days so he feels there is nothing to worry about. Should he see doctor?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
However there are so many causes of bleeding form anus ( with stool).
Few of them are as,
Hemorrhoids ( piles) most common cause,
fissures cause minor bleeding with stool,
These two are most common causes and don't require any hospitalization .
Other less common causes are
Diverticula (intestine),
cancer,
colitis ( inflammatory or idiopathic )
solitary ulcer of rectum.
So consult a physician / surgeon and get in their opinion regarding this.
Physical examination is very important ,so doctors will assess the reason and disease.
