Blood In Stool, Bloated Stomach, Feeling Sick. What Could Be This?

Hi, I'm a 33 old male. For the past week I have had alot of blood in my stools, when I wipe there is alot of bright red blood.

Also I have a constant sickly feeling with no energy. My stomach feel bloated all the time and looks bloated. I'm not over weight but I do have a belly on me. Only way I can describe it is like a hangover stomach or a feeling of the runs.

Parents have mentioned piles but I don't have any signs of them

Is this something I should be worried about?

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Hemorrhoids do give bright red blood in stool indeed. But usually does not cause other mentioned by you symptoms. And usually hemorrhoids are invisible as long as it wont get outside the anus so no hemorrhoids can be present.
Blood is stool can be also caused by bacterial infection (however diarrhea should be present), inflammatory bowels disease (like Crohns disease), large intestine polyps or even colon cancer. Bloated stomach and lack of energy sound like last two mentioned conditions.

So please do not neglect your symptoms and visit your doctor. Rectal examination should be done, blood work and abdominal ultrasound. You seem to need colonoscopy as well.

Hope this will help.
Regards.

Hi,
There are several different reasons ( haemorrhoids, fissure, colon cancer, polyps, anal fissures etc..) for bleeding stools and no matter what the cause is it is a condition that should be checked upon by a doctor as soon as possible.
The low level of energy you are experiencing is most likely a result of the blood loss as well. As such please take an appointment with a doctor for a check up right away.
I hope this helped you.
