Just having one sugar level is not indicative of diabetes. He should check it on a fasting blood sample and again after eating. But 26.5 is a high level, he should be reporting this to his doctor and take further steps to confirm/rule out daibetes and necessary treatment thereof.

Hi. I am a type 2 diabetic. I forgot to test before dinner, so just did now. Earlier this afternoon, I was stung by bees....10 to be exact! 6 on top of my head, 1 on my arm, my foot, my neck and the tip of my nose. I didn t even think to test at the time. Now, I have had dinner and a couple of cookies, but it has been at least 1 hours since my last cookie. I just tested 10 mins. ago and it was 265. Is this to be expected after being stung so many times...even though it has been at least 8 hours?
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes on Thursday. I was placed on metformin 500 mg daily and told to watch my diet. I ve been watching everything I put in my mouth for three days and still my sugar is 265 with diet and medication. If I don t eat is still 265. If I eat it s around 265. I m really confused.
