Blocked sensation in ear, phlegm in throat. Tried hot lemon, no relief. Cure?

Hi I have a blocked feeling in my ear and a swimmy feeling. The doctor gave me a course of antibiotics but it hasn t improved, how can I clear this blockage? I have tried blowing down with nostrils pinched, the air goes up one side but the bad side nothing much happens. I also have catarrh in my throat which wont go. I have tried hot lemon but it keeps coming back.

hello and welcome to HCM,

Since you have a blocked feeling in the ear you may have caught an infection of the ear which should subside in a day or two. Also did you have a travel outside your city or a flight recently? Then too the block will subside in a day or two.

Meanwhile you can do steam inhalation using camphor or eucalyptus oil once or twice in a day
You can also try this: hold your nose (close it) and swallow with a closed mouth; do this around twenty times in a day
Do not try to clean or meddle with your ears

take care and get well soon!
