Blockage Between Nose And Throat, 8 Weeks Pregnant, Salty Taste At The Back Of Throat, Cure

Hello, I feel as though I have something stuck between my nose and throat . I am 8 weeks pregnant and ever since I found out (may be coincidental) but I keep getting this salty taste which starts at the back of my throat. This makes me feel and eventually be sick. I have been sucking on mints to get the taste away but it has been going on for about 4 weeks now. Please can someone help?

Hi welcome to health care magic forum,

Stuck something between nose and throat and getting a salty taste in throat is called post nasal drip.

It may be due to allergic or bacterial sinusitis or reflux pharyngitis.

Rarely pregnancy cause hyperstimulation of olfactory nerve and may lead to cacosmia and phantomosmia (distoration of smell).

In my opinion take a nasivion - s or saline nasal drop 2 drops 3 times for a 10 to 15 days .

If no relief than see an ENT specialist for a thorough Nasal examination.
