General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

The reason of your symptoms can be diet, chronic bacterial infection, hypothyroidism or even colon cancer.
If you are older than 50, colon cancer should be ruled out as first. To do that, colonoscopy should be done.
In a meanwhile please try to improve your diet. Increase fiber rich products and mineral water intake. Avoid fatty foods, soft drinks.
If colonoscopy will be negative, stool tests, thyroid tests should be also done. Discuss with your doctor Rifaximine treatment and start probiotic supplementation.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
