Bleeding In Stools. Prescribed Diltiac Ointment. Is The Treatment Right?

Hi Doctor, I am having this problem for a month and whenever stools come out there is bleeding . I have been prescribed Diltiac oinment, but applying that did not make any difference. I have now been advised a minor surgery, Is that the right direction? Please help me with the treatment options and next step. Thanks, Venkat

The passage of blood along with stools is most commonly seen due to hemorrhoids or fissures. A colposcopic examination by a surgeon will help in differentiating. If the medical treatment is not helpful then surgery is the last resort.
