Bleeding From Internal And External Hemorrhoids. Will There Be Any Other Health Problems Due To This Bleeding?

Hi I have had moderate internal and external hemorrhoids for over 20 years, they have recently started bleeding more frequently. My question is are there any long term complications from bleeding hemorrhoids. If they bleed on a regular basis and with every bowel movement even when soft, can they cause other health problems?

Hi,
Long term bleeding from haemorrhoids can lead to Anaemia( low haemoglobin) and sometimes can lead to severe anaemia requiring blood transfusion. So in case you are having persistent bleeding, kindly contact your treating physician, who can do necessary investigations and advise you medical or surgical treatment.
