Bleeding After Fingering. Is It Okay To Use Tampon?
I'm 16 and have had a normal period for a while. Today I was fingered for the first time and began bleeding and it has continued for several hours. My period usual starts around the beginning of the month. So my question is did I start my period during it or is the bleeding due to something in relation to the hymen? Is it ok for me to use a tampon?
Hi, Thanks for writing in. If you did not expect your periods at the moment and had bleeding only after fingering, in most probability there has been tear in the hymen. If the bleeding is significant and not under control, I suggest you see a gynecologist and explain your situation. Such bleeding should not continue more than few hours. If it does, ruling out any injury is essential. Yes, you could use a tampon to soak the bleed but must remove it within few hours to check that bleeding has stopped. Hope this helps.
