Bitten By A Kitten, Took Series Of Anti Rabies Shots. Got Bitten Again Before Last Shot. Do I Need To Repeat My Course Of Anti Rabies Injections?

Hi, I was bitten by my kitten this june 1, 2012 and had my series of anti rabies shots from then on. My last shot should be this 30th of June but I was so unfortunate to got bitten again by my kitten again who doesn t have an anti rabies shot since she is just 2months old. Do I need to get another round of shots for anti rabies again? when I got vaccinated from the first bite this june 1?

As rabies is such a scary topic, everybody would like to play safe. In general the dose you have taken on June first should have started to produce antibodies. I think you are safe.
You have taken 4 shots and it is a favourable point. If a previous person has second attack, they recommend two doses. On day zero ( on the day of bite ) and day 3.
Best course would be take the 5th dose early 30 days later another dose.
There are several studies and each country has its own set of guidelines.
The bite can cause what is called as secondary bacterial infection at the site bite. Watch for it
