Bite Marks On The Shoulder. Mild Swelling With Itching. What Is It?
Hi,
About two days ago - I noticed a few bite marks on my upeer back just above my shoulder blade. It was red and slightly sore. After twi days - it developed a darker dot in the center, And it still hasn't gone away. The area around the bites is slightly swollen. Today is the fourth day. It was just slightly itchy - but I haven't touched it much.
Looks like you have developed a lesion of Vector dermatitis..also known as Paederus dermatitis.. Paederus dermatitis is a peculiar, irritant contact dermatitis characterized by a sudden onset of red lesions on exposed areas of the body. The disease is provoked by an insect belonging to the genus Paederus. Now as in your case the lesion is persisting since 4 days, you need to apply an antibiotic/steroid combination cream over the lesion twice a day. Take oral antihistamine like levocetrizine once a day to decrease the swelling
Hope it helps Wishing you speedy recovery Dr Geetika Paul
