Bilateral Tonsil Stones In Throat. Anything To Worry?

The other day, I looked in my throat and saw two, bilateral tonsil stones about the size of a lentil. I didn't know what they were until I Googles their description. I've also spotted them in the past but they disappeared. They were directly across from each other on each tonsil. I was unable to remove them using various home methods. I woke up this morning, checked my throat and one of them was completely gone. Now I'm left with one and hope it will pop out while I'm sleeping? Do I need to be concerned that they were bilateral? I'm a healthy 54 year old female. Thanks.

Hi

welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding recurrent white patches in the tonsils , and you are worried about development.

After considering all about your clinical history it appears as you are having chronic tonsillitis with sepsis and tonsilolith. As you are saying that one side of your tonsil is now became clear .But here I would like to tell you that your tonsils are not healthy and you may land up in some other complications like paratonsillar abscess.

I would like to tell you that tonsillectomy operation is minor operation and is being done as day care clinic. There are very comfortable methods as laser or coblation assisted surgery, which are near about bloodless surgery.

I hope now you think again about surgery and save yourzelf from complications.

Regards.
