Bad Odored Stools, Watery In Nature. Why? Take Econorm, Enterogermina?

Hi, My son is 5 1/2 months old he is having very watery stools with bad odour and varying color and sticky since yesterday.He is also vomiting sometimes.We consulted a doctor.He suggested a few medicines(ECONORM,ENTEROGERMINA and injection NTN 10) am using these since yesterday but still he is suffering with same. Can you please help us.

Thanks for posting your query in HCM.
The medicines given by your doctor contains bacteria which are good for the gut. They help in overcomming the bad bacteria which produce problems. This is going to take sometime to get normal.
I hope your child doesnt have problem of pica i.e. eating or licking dust/soil or eating papper or pencils etc.
Usually the loose motions are viral in nature but they can also be be caused by bacterail infections.
Please use Electral powder or Oral Rehydration Salts to replenish the water loss. Please take care to properly mix it in Either 1 ltr or 200ml of water, depending on the packet being used.
