Bad Colds, Throat Pain. Used Antibiotic, Nasal Spray, Cough Syrup. Advice?

Hi there,

I started off with a bad cold a few weeks ago. I went to the doctor and I got antibiotics and nasal spray to clear up really bad phlegm (sinus infection). The "cold" seems to have past, but I cough at night a lot. Cough syrup is NOT helping. Always begins around 9pm. The problem now is that yesterday I coughed and out of no where my throat hurt severely. I feel like I pulled a muscle. It hurts to swallow, and is not the typical "sore throat" pain. I hurts when I move around my tongue. I hurts to speak as as well. HELP! any advise as to how to ease this pain and stop coughing???

Hello,
I consider you do not have sputum,
For cough you must take---
Antibiotic
Cogh syrup like Levocloperasitine after consulting with your doctor
Take care of reflux of food from stomach,acidity or heart burn and take antacid syrups.
At home drinking coffee would be of great help.
Take steam inhalations

Even if the cough doesnot go and its sort of barking cough the you need to take a course of steroids as there is a component of laryngotracheitis which is becuase of coughing for long and is irritation of airways for which steroids help.
