Back Problem, Bulging Disc Disease, Arthritis. Got Epidural Steroid Injection In Back And Spine. Will It Help ?

hi my name is AAAAA I'm 24 years old and I have back problems T11 and T12 bulging disc degenerative joint disease and arthritis my ex jumped on my back while I was laying on my stomach on a floaty about 5 years ago and my dr that I have been seeing for my back problems has been telling me that that couldn't have caused the problems I have... my lower back also has bulging disc and arthritis... I have gotten epidural steroid injection in my lower back 3 series of them 1 on each side of my lower spine it did not help at all and today I got Novocain injected into my muscles right next to my spine and it was painful and hasn't made much of a difference and I still feel pressure where the injections where injected my question is will it help and also is it even meant for that?

Hi and thanks for the query,
Treatment of disc disease ranges from non pharmacologic, (none drugs), medical (drugs) and at times surgery. Life style changes like losing weight or avoiding weight loss could help. It could important to seek the opinion of a physiotherapist. When drug therapy fails at times, infiltration of drugs like steroids are usually used. they are generally more potent than drugs. However, other treatment measures always need to be associated to this treatment. Failure of the drugs to respond might deserve a surgical option. However, infiltrations are generally effective. thanks and kind regards
