Back pain, difficulty in standing straight, frothy and white stools. What could it be?

I woke up this morning with an awful pain in my side/back that I originally thought was just gas. I went to work, and the pain persisted so I took two Aleve . I ended up having to leave work early because I could barely stand up straight. I used the restroom this morning with normal stool , and this afternoon I used the restroom and my stool looked exactly like saliva . It was just white, bubbly foam. I am concerned about the pain and the foam, any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Noted your history of severe weakness, pain in abdomen as mentioned, White frothy stools like saliva, need to go home.
All this indicate the possibility of severe colitis hence explaining all the symptoms.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Take plenty of fluids orally, coconut water and electrolyte solution to counter dehydration and electrolyte balance that has caused difficulty in standing and walking, making you weak.
Consult your Doctor immediately for clinical evaluation and examination, ask for tests of stool and blood.
You will be given symptomatic treatment for pain in abdomen and specific treatment with antibiotics, metronidazole and as needed.
Take probiotics too.
Take rest till recovered well.
Use only boiled for 20 minutes and cooled water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
General Surgeon
