Back Pain, Bruise Forming At Side Of Spine. Ran Marathon. Reason For Pain?

Hi there,
I ran a 1/2 marathon today. I use to run in college and would call myself a recreational runner now, however, I forget that I'm not 20 something anymore. I ran the race this morning with very little mileage and training put in beforehand. I have back pain and a bruise forming at the side of my spine. Should I be alarmed? Why did this happen?
