Baby Suffering From Cold And Cough. Given Hatric3 Syrup, Salbid Plus And Asthalin Expectorant Syrups. Suggest Medicine?

Hello Doctor,

My son - 16 months old is suffering from cold and cough. I have given him Hatric3 syrup thrice yesterday and cold was in control, however, he is coughing continuously in sleep also. I have Salbid Plus and Asthalin Expectorant syrups. Please suggest which one/a new medicine to use and how many times a day. My son is vomiting while eating and coughing sometimes.

Thanks in advance.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi Sruthi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

It is dangerous to self medicate a baby particularly so in that age group.

I suggest you should take her to your pediatrician and start medications as per his advise.

Is your baby breathing fast?
Are there any chest retractions?

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
