Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Is he on exclusive breast feeds?

Loose stools are due to gastroenteritis mostly due to a virus.

Maintain hydration of the child by giving frequent breastfeeds and oral rehydration solutions such as Pedialyte.

Continue oral probiotic bifilac as advised.

Oral zinc can be given for 2 weeks with the doctor advise.

Loose stools will subside with this medication within 3 to5 days.

If persisting, consult the doctor for reassessment and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
