Baby Has One Kidney. Passing Sandy Stool. What Would Cause This?

My 11 month old baby has one kidney and has recently been passing sandy stools . Could this be related? I read this could be a taurine deficiency. What would cause this and should we be concerned? No other symptoms are evident. He appears and behaves typically. His appetite is great, though Im a little concerned that his daily intake of formula ranges from 18-24 oz. He weighs 22 lbs
