hi
welcome to health care magic
i read ur details

as such hiccups are a result of a reflux GERD...which occur as usual in many people..
it has nothing related with prognosis of clot in the brain..try to take an pan 20 mg before food if they are very frequent which will stop them...and also have preventive effect against ESOPHAGEAL REFLUX...
take care...

Hes been noticing and myself that he has acid reflux and gets hickups bad, plus when he lays down at nite the acid reflux seems to be worse, im not sure if he has swelling of the throat, but i,m concerned because he seems to get chocked and can,t swollow sometimes when eatn. Is this a big concern, sholud he let his doctor know. Now when he was on someother meds in the past, he was throwing up in his sleep and was inhaleing or you,d call it vomiting and it got in his lungs one time, and they collasped. My husband has had hiccups for 5 days now. He has tried everything he read to try to stop them.Eating ice, drinking cold water, breathing methods, taking a spoon of sugar, spoon of honey etc. He went to the dr. and she took an EKG thinking it may be a heart problem. It wasn t his heart. She wants him to call her after the weekend if they don t stop. After having some ice pops the hiccups stopped and he got a good nights sleep but started again today and still continues. Can you suggest any other solutions? We ll try anything. I know that this can be a sign of somthing more serious but it came on so suddenly. He said that this happened to him years ago but went away. What do you thing?

Then theres the acid reflux and burning pain when I swallow food as im swallowing corrosive battery acid. Was some nausea earlier. Are these two related? And what should be done firstly to address the hiccups and sleep deprivation. I am taking prilosec and mylanta and little food. Thank so much and have a great day.

Hi, I have had a persistent hiccup since Friday Oct 15. I did not want to go to the emergency room because I do not want to wait for 3-4 hrs and end up getting treated by a non-expert and end up getting frustrated further. Would you kindly please advise for an alternative? thank you.

My 52 year old boyfriend gets Hiccups that don t go away until he goes to sleep, and they continue for awhile, even in his sleep, he has ulcerative colitis, but has not had any flare ups in almost 2 years, other than that he has no other medical conditions, is not overweight, and lifts weights four times a week, he usually gets them again shortly after eating, he has been to a GI specialist and has has had an EGD done, with no significant findings, he has been presribed Baclofen, and Reglan, and was instructed to take 2 Prilosec daily, none have made any difference, any suggestions on a specialist that could possibly help him? We have made several hospital visits as well, and MRI s, CT scans and x-rays have all been done, showing nothing, they come so close together sometimes that he can t breath, any advise would be greatly appreciated. He has complained to me before that it feels like his ears are clogged, just curious if you think there could be any correlation. Thanks so much.
