As I am breastfeeding what is this brown discharge after my periods ?

Hi I am currently breastfeeding about twice a day. I got my period back after 12 months. Two weeks later I had a day of brown discharge, then two weeks later again the same thing happened. A month after that again, but the brown discharge only lasted a couple of hours this time. I am on the mini pill as well.

Brown discharge sometimes occurs in some women while taking contraceptives. There are multiple causes for brown vaginal discharge aside from possible pregnancy. Other causes may include, stress (which it certainly sounds like you are under a significant amount), hormone imbalances, infection (usually other symptoms are present), trauma to the vagina or cervix from intercourse, etc. When this occurs, for instance just after a menstrual cycle it may be related to the products of the uterus not being completely expelled during a menstrual cycle
