Are White Spots Under The Tongue Signs Of Strep Throat?

I have white spots under my tongue and inside of cheek. I originally thought it was just an ulcer but it is not getting better. This is the 4th day /no fever/dry throat/burning irritation. Could it be strep without a fever? Am visiting grandkids and don't want them to get sick.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of white spots under the tongue which could be signs of strep throat and it could be due to mouth ulcers due to minor injury to mucosa and infection like oral thrush.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult oral physician for proper examination and to rule out other conditions like strep throat and canker sore. Doctor may prescribe oral antibiotics and oral steroids. Apply numbing gel to avoid pain. Use antiseptic mouthwash. You should avoid spicy food and acidic drink. Do warm saline rinses. You should drink plenty of fluids.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
