Are Weight Loss, Enlarged Lymph Nodes And Nodules In Lungs Symptoms Of Cancer?

I have an approximately 4 x 1/2 (what was) a soft tissue lump between my sternum and rib cage. found it early Dec. Now its hard as a rock. went for chest scan & throat scan, they found a lot of enlarged lymph nodes and a nodule in my lung. Seeing an oncologist Friday. Am a wreck. I ve been smoking off and on for 25 yrs. In your experience is this some kind of cancer. Also am losing weight without trying

Hello

Nodules and lymph nodes may be due to lung cancer.It is important to due to history of smoking in your case.
It is important to know details of nodule means whether there is spiculation,calcification or not.Spiculation is characteristic of lung cancer.
You may need CT guided FNAC/Biopsy depending upon clinical assessment.
You may also need follow up CT scan and tumour markers.
FNAC is very helpful in assessing nature of nodule.
Proper treatment depend upon findings.
