Are Trauma And Infections The Cause For Elevated Thyroid Levels?
I had a hysterectomy in March and at the time I became really paranoid n was told it was because of a urinary tract infection, that it can make u go kind of loopy. However, in Sept my husband had an emergency surgery n while I was at hosp I contracted some virus n got a really sore throat, fever n after that I got paranoid for a couple of weeks again. But when they ran blood work in Oct they said everything was fine n they had no thryoid issues. Is it possible that the trauma of all the stress n the infections both times could have caused my thyroid to be temporarily out of wack enough to make me extremely paranoid? My fear is that I will go through that again. It s horrible no remember all the stupid thoughts I had back then.

Are Trauma And Infections The Cause For Elevated Thyroid Levels?
Thanks for asking a question at Healthcare magic I will be glad to answer it for you No, it cannot happen that thyroid levels can increase to that high levels that can make you paranoid and come back to normal levels again. Yes, thyroid abnormality can cause such symptoms, but the levels do not go back to normal unless treated. Don t get tensed thinking about the past, various factors might have played a role, and you are normal now and that is important It is not mandatory that the episode repeats in future. You will be alright for the rest of your life. Hope this helps Best Regards Dr Chaithanya
