Are There Toxic Interactions Between Simvastatin And Amlodipine?

I am a nurse for a home health agency. A new client, upon filling new discharge medications, was told that the ordered meds of simvastatin and amlodipine could have a toxic interaction yet filled the prescriptions. I am trying to follow up on this but can find nothing definative. Please advise. My client is 86 years old and recovering from a recent stroke.

hi
as such there is no such interaction.
simvastatin is anticholesterol drug, whereas amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker.
but in combination both can cause generalised weakness due to the cellular action.
in 86 year old the weakness can be more significant.
it is ideal to add multivitamin combination drugs to mask the effect.
take care
