Are There Medications To Clear Restricted Blood Flow To The Heart Or Stent, The Only Option?
Are there medications to clear restricted blood flow to the heart? I just had a stress test showing an abnormality.
I've been experiencing heart burn for over a year, friends tell me to stop eating chocolate and take zantact. That has stopped the burning sensation in my chest but the stress test shows a blood flow restriction. Will medications help or am I looking at a stent. I'm still very active at 72, I'm the high school golf coach, I have three junior golf programs and teach at two golf courses. I'm also able to play 36 holes a day riding in a golf cart. Thank you for your time and answer!!
The cornerstone on the treatment of CAD is medical therapy, which reduce the mortality and morbidity rates and increase life expectancy.
Only if medical therapy is inefficient to control the symptoms and complaints of the disease than re-vascularization therapy (Coronary stenting or CABG) is indicated.
So i suggest to begin first with medical therapy (for this consult your cardiologist) and than if this is inefficient than you should go for angiography and stenting.
Hope it answered to your query! Dr. Bneard
