Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking Malaria Pills Along With Implanon?

Hi, I'm going to Afghanistan this week and I'm taking Implanon. If I start taking my malaria pills (Doxycycline Hyclate) is there anything I should be worried about? Are there any known side effects from mixing these two drugs that I should know about?

Implanon is a subdermal implant containing etonogesteral. Doxycycline is a tetracycline group of antimicrobial compound given for malarial prophylaxis. These drugs have no drug interactions with each other.
While each drug is associated with its individual side-effects, neither potentiates the side-effects of the other. Hence, it is Ok to take doxycycline if you have Implanon implanted.
