Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking Neo Mercazole?
Hey I was just wondering if taking Neo Mercazole will make me gain weight. I was just given the medication yesterday I take 5 mg 3 times a day. My doctor assured me that I wont gain weight, but since I have always been a on the bigger side of the scale I have been quite pleased with staying at the same weight even though eating more. Will Neo Mercazole help reduce my hunger and will the head ache, stiffness of my body, nausea and stomach problems I am already experiencing ease with time? Im getting an ultrasound done of my neck as well,will this show if my thyroid is oversized and if it is does that mean its Graves Disease?

If you are prescribed neo-mercazole your thyroid reports must be showing hyperactivity.
It has a few side effects like 1.allergy 2.sore throat 3. Neutropenia.
Few patients do gain little weight but that we can not co relate with the therapy.
Because in other longstanding diseases when the treatment is started patients tend to gain weight as well, may be because of feeling of well being.
Easing of duration of symptoms also differ in every individual,it takes few days to few weeks.
As your treatment has started on time chances of you developing Graves disease is low. Keep following your doctors advice.
