Hi,

Lisinopril belongs to the group of antihypertensive medications known as angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors which is used in the treatment of high blood pressure or hypertension, heart attacks and heart failure. It works by blocking the substances in the body that tighten blood vessels, relaxing the blood vessels and lowering blood pressure.

Side effects of Lisinopril are angioedema or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat or other organs, low blood pressure or hypotension, dizziness, tiredness, fatigue, chest tightness or pain, body ache, muscle pain, GIT upset, loss of appetite, joint pain, indigestion, abdominal pain, bloating, cough, headache, electrolytes imbalance like hyperkalemia, increased blood sugar level, faintness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat etc. If these side effects persist for long or bother you, then you should consult your doctor first for medical help. Despite having of side effects, you should not stop taking this medication without informing your doctor first.
