Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking Cytomel?

I just this evening, received my first Paddock Labs prescription. It is for Liothyronine SOD 5 mcg., and I am supposed to take 3 of these (15mcg. twice a day.) I have been taking Brand name Cytomel 25mcg. This new prescription is the same size as the 25mcg I ve been taking, but it does have the numbe 5 in middle and 220 under the 5. My pharmacy is closed and I m double checking to make sure this is a 5mcg. tablet. Thank you very much.

Good Morning,
We are probably late in answering your question, but yes, your pharmacist who dispensed the pills is the best source of information. It does sound like it is the 5 mcg. dose and he has you taking 30 mcg total per day which is a 5 mcg increase from the 25 mcg Cytomel you were taking. I hope my answer is consistent with the pharmacist who is the only one to tell you what he actually gave you.

Please make certain you take your medication exactly per direction or you may not absorb it. Next, do not eat soy products with it, please, as soy interacts with your medication decreasing its effectiveness. I would be curious to know if you have compared the synthroid with the cytomel and if you noticed any difference.
Store away from heat, light and not in the bathroom.
