Are There Any Birth Control Pills That Can Be Taken While Having Hashomoto's Disease?

Hi, i am 36 years old and a patient of Hashimoto's disease for 6 years now. I stopped taking birth controll pills as it seemed/felt better 5 years ago to get my thyroid balanced again.
Is there any birt controll pill that I can take without side effects with my Hashomoto's disease.
Many thanks!

Hello,

You can take progesterone-only pills (pop). It will not worsen your thyroid dysfunction and does not interact with your thyroid drugs also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
