Are The Medicines For Blood Pressure And Cholesterol Cause Sore Spots In The Tongue?

I take primidone orally for a hand tremor (essential tremor); I also take norvasc and losartan-HCTZ for blood pressure, and lipitor for cholesterol management. Are you aware if any of the medications are known to cause sore spots on the tongue. This has been a problem for several months. The lesion will disappear only to reappear in a few days. thanks.

sore spots on the tongue are generally from a local allergy. There are some drugs that directly stimulate the immune system (but these are none of the ones youare mentioning. ASPIRIN is probalby the most common to do this both by an efffect on the immune system, but it also is quite irritating and it frequently causes chemical burns). The ones you mentioned do not do this. BUT all can have allergic reactions to them and none is more likely than the others to be the cause. Stargin back on one at a time would be the usual way to sort it out.
