Are Sore Breasts And Dizziness Signs Of Pregnancy?

I am a 29 year old female. I was on Co-amoxiclav about 3 weeks ago, around the time of my period. I am on Femodene (have not missed a pill) and did not use extra protection whilst on the antibiotic as the antibiotic leaflet said nothing about interactions with the contraceptive pill.

However, in the last 2 weeks my breasts have got sore and my nipples bumpier, I feel sleepy, occassionally dizzy, and have an increase in appetite and need to urinate more. I also have a runny nose!

Does this sound like I might be pregnant, and how soon can I take a pregnancy test. My current pack of pills finishes in 3 days.

Thank you.

Thank you for the question and I am happy to help.

First, the only antibiotic pill that has been shown to interfere with the birth control pill is called Rifampin. It is a common myth that antibiotics interfere with the birth control pill and the one that you were on is not a problem in terms of the pill. Second, there is no form of birth control that is 100% effective, so you need to check a pregnancy test when it has been two weeks since unprotected intercourse. Third, your symptoms might just be related to your cycle and you might have a bladder infection. Fourth, a runny nose is not a specific sign of pregnancy.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
