Are Severe Headaches Indicative Of Sinus Infection?

I ve been having headaches daily for about 3 weeks. I had a dentist appt 6 days ago for a sensitive tooth (I believe this was not related to the headaches). Dentist said it seemed like I had a sinus infection bc he couldn t find anything wrong with my tooth. He prescribed me a Z pac and I ve finished the antibiotic. No change in headaches. I have sore muscles in my neck often. I just noticed that on the back of my head, on each side, there is raised area that wasn t there before. I thought that if I did have sinus problems going on, that the meds would give me relief. Should I worry?

Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic

I am Dr. Shama and I will be answering your question.

I went through the history and it seems you are having severe headache. The common causes for severe headache are sinusitis, migraine, dental problems, refractive errors of the eye....
Sinusitis is usually associated with pain around the nose and eyes, cold, cough...
Since you are not having these symptoms it looks like sinusitis is not the cause for your headache. The swelling behind the head is not related to sinusitis and requires evaluation by CT scan to find out the underlying cause.
Do consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly depending on the underlying cause.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Hope this is helpful yo you.

Thank you
