Are Residual Dissolving Sutures Normal After Shin Repair Surgery?
Hi, I had 15 stitches on July 30 5 being dissolving that were placed on the inside of my shin to repair the fascia I had them removed a week a week later, however the dissolving tips of the suture is sticking out of the now healed outer wound, is this normal to have dissolving sutures still present a month later?
Yes that absorbable suture will dissolve gradually.
If there is granuloma formation after 2 to 3 months then you may need to remove it surgically.
