Are Red Itchy Rashes On The Torso And Groin Area Due To The Anaesthesia?

my brother had corrective eye surgery earlier today and now he has a red itchy rash almost like a nettle sting or prickly heat rash covering most of his torso and groin area can this be a normal reaction after anesthesia or is it something to worry about?

Hello,
Welcome to to HCM,
The symptoms following the eye corrective surgery may be due to the allergic reaction to any one of the drug used in the procedure.
The symptoms are suggesting of the allergic manifestations. It will come down once all the drugs used in the procedure are eliminated out.
For immediate relief you can give.
1.Oral Antihistamines
2.Apply cold pack on the rashes.
I would suggest you to inform your ophthalmologist regarding the symptoms you had following the eye procedure.
Thank you.
