Are Rashes On The Legs Suggestive Of Shingles?

I returned from a vacation in Hawaii today and while waiting for the plane to return home I noticed a rash on both legs just above the ankles. Could this be scabies or shingles or something else. The rash is red and raised. YYYY@YYYY Can I wait til Tuesdday (2 days) or should I seek immediate care?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Shingles are unlikely.
Shingles first comes at the abdomen and usually painful.
As first-line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
