Are Persistent Sore On Feet Sings Of Shingles?

my friend has had a sore for over a year, she says it is shingles. Has never had it tested! her mother said! I saw it over a year ago, still really bloody red and sore! Have not looked at it up close, within a few feet! Has to really hurt, I saw it last year and again this year, same spot, right at where her pants rub! How serious can this be! A worried friend!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I don't think this can be shingles lasting for a year without getting better. Shingles can last for weeks but can get better in its own and reoccur. You can upload a photo of the lesion for me into reports and I can help you to have an idea of what it can be.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
