Are Oral Contraceptives Advisable While On Eltroxin?
Hello... I may be barking on the wrong tree since you are a Psychiatrist, however I would still like to hear your advice.I am 41 years old and have goiter for 12 years and been taking eltroxin 100 MCG since then. Is it okay for me to use oral contraceptive pill? I don t want to be pregnant again, I already have two kids. Thank you very much for your time!

Oral contra ceptive pills will increase thyroxin dose requirements.Keeping in v/o your age and that the family is complete better for you to go for pemanent sterilization that is tubectomy or vasectomy for your spouse.otherwise IUCD loop is the better alternative because ocpills lead to so many side effects like hypertension esp after 40yrs age.
