Are nose bleeds a matter of concern?

I seemed to be getting a cold or maybe allergies I used a nasal spray and I’m having a nose bleed there seemed to be a clot in the back that maybe the nasal spray broke loose. It started to bleed when I laid down I had a breath right strip on my nose but I removed it it seems to have l slowed way down .... should I be concerned?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Nose bleeds may be due to dryness or injury to blood vessels or infection or hypertension or thrombocytopenia etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use nasal packing or apply pressure for 30-50secons. Use antibiotics, use tablet pantoprazole before breakfast for one week. If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

i had a nose bleed earlier today and it gushed out for the best part of 10 minutes and then it stopped, and i didn t find it a problem. until I ended up with a aching pain on the inside of my nose. I previously broke my nose a couple of years back and since then never had a nose bleed. I had a cigeratte and my nose started bleeding again and thats when i got mild headache. 8 year old son fell off the sofa this morning unto his face and his nose began to bleed but only for about 10 minutes, that was about 130 this morning Eastern Standard Time. I ve been monitoring him all day. his pupils have been dilating properly, no headaches, no reports of nausea, I did give him some children s Tylenol to be on the safe side earlier. He he s been playing and laughing and jumping around as normal. a few minutes ago he was playing and his nose begin to bleed just a little bit, not as much as this morning, just wondering if I should be on alert or take him to the emergency room to be checked out?

My 2 year old has had a nose bleed almost every day for 2 weeks also developed a rash I believe to be eczema or heat rash and he also suffers asthma attack’s but hasn’t had one lately however this week I’ve had to buy piriton as he had been dealing with hay fever symptoms. Is he just really unlucky to have all of these allergies and should I be worried about the nose bleeds?
