Are Nodules In Lung Malignant?

I Have a Mai Infection in my lungs due to the fact I have COPD. I have been on 3 antibiotics for two years. 3 weeks ago the doctors of UNI took me off them. I have 2 nodules1 in each lung. One is from Mai Infection. They other one, I ve had for a year, even when I was on Mai infection treatment. Neither have grown in size yet. I have pain in the base of my neck and upper chest when I take a deep breath, Ive had a PET scan. These areas light up but not high enough to make a definite decision to say, whether it is Mai again or cancer. I have had the one nodule for at least 3 yrs. The other one 1 year .Can MAI lead into mold? Unusal case do not have any other disease except for COPD.

Hi there..... MAI leading into a mold?... Are there any cavities in your ungs?what does your scan report say. Do you have any enlarged lymph nodes just above your collar bone on either side or axilla/ armpit area? Since you have taken adequate MAI medication for 2 years, lets assume MAI is cleared. Calcified nodules can persist and if its not increasing in size, dont worry about it.A bronchoscopy can actually help you rule out mold. But I suggest you to kindly keep a watch on the scan, any increase in size of nodule, or multiple nodules elsewhere or pain... you might need a lung biopsy of nodule to be sure to rule out cancer. At thist moment a careful biopsy can definitely lay your fears to rest. And be positive.
