Are My Pap Smear Test Results Dangerous?

i am 26 yrs old,had only one partner,gave birth when i was still 21,used contraceptive pills for 4 yrs and practiced depo in 6 months, my papsmear result is pre dominance of coccobacilli consistent with shift of vaginal flora? is it dangerous?will it lead to cervical cancer? if left untreated?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The normal flora on Pap smear is lactobacillus.
Lactobacillus are rod shaped bacteria. These bacteria are present in acidic pH of the vagina.
However, when pH is increased which happens in infection, the lactobacillus is replaced by cocco-bacillus.
Cocco-bacilli are round shaped bacteria.
Antibiotic treatment is required to replace the cocco-bacilli population by lactobacilli population.
After treat of the infection, a repeat Pap smear needs to be done to assess the status of the lining of the cervix.

It is not a dangerous condition.
Infection is present which has to be treated.
