Are Mild Gastro Intestinal Pains Related To Celiac Disease?

I just turned 39 years old. Last August I was diagnosed with Celiac disease. I had lost almost 20 lbs and had diarrhea. Since my blood test for antibodies returned positive last summer, I have been gluten free. My BMs are solid again and I ve regained the weight. I understand I am at increased risk for small bowel cancers and lymphomas. Why isn t VCE or Bariam contrast or ultrasound the next step for me? It would seem like my GI would want to check for this. No? I still have minor GI pains and am not sure if it is Celiac symptoms or something else.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to HCM...

I can understand your concern.
By antibody testing you are celiac disease positive....

So yes gluten free diet taken...like wheat , rye and barley....
According to few articles gluten free diet reducing chances of malignancy like lymphoma.....
So strict dietary restriction neeede.

When diarrhea corticosteroid might useful for short time....

If needed every 5 to 6 month biopsy can be taken...
Yes CT scan also useful....

Regular follow up done....

Take care.
