Are Lumps On The Gums Only An Extra Bone Growth?

I am 66 with good dental health. I have had a small white lump on the inside of my gum, behind lower front tooth. It doesn t hurt and has been there at least 2 years. My dentist said it was a bony growth and not to worry about it; but it s bothersome because my tongue constantly touches it. Any suggestion?

Thank you for your query,

Small bony lump in your mentioned area can be Torus. This is small benign bony growth on the inside of the lower anterior s.
You can get a biopsy done to eliminate any fear of malignant growth.
If it is disturbing your day to day life, then you can go for its resection.

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The lump on the gums can be a exostosis or tori or osteoma. These are all inflammatory hyperplasias and are benign in nature. nothing to be panic, these will not trouble you and does not require any treatment.
Since you are telling you have problem with it and the lumps are interfering with your tongue movements, You can get it surgically excised or get a osteotomy done under local anesthesia. But this can reoccur.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, and if this is some kind of bony growth and if your are not comfortable with this then surgical intervention could be the option if this lesion is operable, hope this information helps.
